Indianapolis Airport Now Boarding
Thirty years in the planning, the $1.1 billion New Indianapolis Airport features a new passenger terminal, concourses, parking garage and airfield and apron improvements. The 1.2 million square foot Midfield Terminal is the largest development initiative in the City of Indianapolis’s history.
The terminal, a unique design by the internationally renowned firm of Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum, is designed to foster economic growth and position Indianapolis as a clearly distinct travel destination. The heart of the terminal is a circular space reminiscent of downtown’s Monument Circle, reflecting the economic and cultural history of Indianapolis.
North Mechanical's installation of the $9.5 million plumbing system for the project used its aggressive fabrication expertise to provide significant increases in productivity on the expansive site.
North’s use of pre-fabrication on the facility made a higher level of quality and performance to the overall project. This approach not only minimized safety issues, but offered savings in labor hours and in scheduled time for installation.
